Lighting cigars with $100's

Tue Feb 10, 2009, 10:42 PM
Figuratively speaking, anyway. I got my student loan money in today, to the tune of $2800. I can finally get my car fixed (again) and do all that other stuff that I've been wanting to do, like go to a gym and pay some utilities in advance.

But that's all incidental stuff. I can finally justify buying a sweet new toy without worrying. I settled on the OCZ NIA, a controller that you plug into your head. Like, wow, man. It's like, I'm the COMPUTER! Seriously though, it reads your brainwaves and turns various signals into commands, so you only have to aim with the mouse. I hope it works with Warcraft and FSX.

Finally, I'm damn close to completing (finally) my novel, and I'm hoping that I nailed it. It's a horrifying process, spending a year or two on something and having to await a ruling on its fate. Some days I feel like George McFly in Back to the Future, bent over a table furiously scribbling away at yet another piece of text, yet fearing to show my work to anyone. I hope I did well on it. I never posted any of it here, and I know the whole point of this place is to hold yourself up for judgment from your peers, but terror grips me when I consider the idea. I'd much rather congratulate people on their work than show my own. I've gotta get over that.

Thanks for watching, although to be honest, I haven't done much. Yet, that is. For what it's worth, you've helped me find quite a few interesting things through your faves.

I don't get a chance to update much myself due to a massive load of college work. I've some text to upload at some point, if I ever get a chance to finish it, lol. I'm a writer, but the addition of school to my workload has cut a lot of my free time out.

My faves list...well, it's full of stuff you don't usually see, I guess. I hope I don't come off as too weird because of it, lol.
:iconmokura:
Too weird? Nah, this is coming from a person who clicked on ringshadow's Fark profile in a furry thread some random time ago (I'm notpersocom there, and I'm a very quiet lurker). Then I guess it was the degrees of seperation game, since I found out about you through ringshadow's journal. Which then continued through your favorites list to other artists I'm just checking out now. I'm no furry myself, but I can appreciate well-done anthro art. :blahblah:

In short: You, good sir, are expanding my horizons in art appreciation. Or something.
